#5 Musical Tours Coming to Ireland 2019

Happy New Year to everybody! Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas break and I'm back for 2019 after a break from the blog as to be honest work took over so I had no spare time to write for the past few months but I'm deciding to give the writing a go again to see how it goes as felt I lost my mojo in the blogging.
But lets get to the post!
Since I was away from the blog I got back into my musicals more with seeing three musicals last year from Legally Blonde Tour, Matilda The musical, Wicked the musical all in Dublin on tour and honestly all three were amazing. Seeing them all the first time and waited to see Matilda still it opened in the West back in 2011 and found the album the year I was ill and found my obsession with the musical since then!

With 2019 more tours are opening in the UK & Ireland and here are my top 5 picks to see in Bord Gais Energy Theater!

1. Kinky Boots the Musical

 

Songs written by Grammy and Tony winner Cyndi Lauper takes you on the movie from 2005 of Charlie Price son of  Price Shoe factory trying to keep hold of the factory since his fathers passing and meets Lola who might be able to help get the factory new business for some needed shoes for a certain group of fabulous entertainers.
Cast- Kayi Ushe as Lola,  Paula Lane as Lauren,  known for her role as Kylie Platt in Coronation Street, Joel Harper-Jackson as Charlie Price.

2. Motown The Musical

 

Founder of Motown Records Berry Gordy only have $800, started the record label helping to  launch careers of Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Jackson 5 ( Micheal Jackson) to Marvin Gaye. Featuring over 50 songs from the Motown records and stories of the artists how they became so famous and personal life.

3. Bodyguard the musical

 

Based on the hit film featuring Whitney Houston.
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge – what they don't expect is to fall in love.

4. Jersey Boys The Musical 

 

Jersey Boys tells the true life story of four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who wrote their own songs, invented their own unique sound.

5. War Horse

 

I know it's not really a musical but it does a two songs Only Remembered. But it's a beautiful emotional play which is just beautiful with the performance done by
South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company of Joey the horse and other  animals.
 At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man’s land.
